Wesleyan Community Care works exclusively through partnerships with local organisations – the initiatives are based on local experience and knowledge and the desire to help their community flourish. We are committed to empowering organisations who are involved in the following areas.
Family Strengthening Initiatives
Each and every family is unique and has their own unique issues. Wesleyan Community Care works alongside our partner organisations who provide a range of family and relationship counselling services and education programs. These include relationship counselling, financial education and parenting support.
If you are in need of support or would like to find out more about counselling please follow one of the links below to our partnering services. (link to the Summit, Hills Counselling?)

Migrant Support
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics in 2021 there were 3 million permanent migrants that had moved to Australia in the last 20 years. Each of these people have to adjust to a new culture and many also need to learn English. WCC partners with local organisations to support migrants in their area. This may include English lessons, community dinners and / or peer support initiatives.
Refugee Support
Imagine coming to Australia with nothing and having to start your life all over again, often not speaking the language or understanding our culture. That is true of many migrants but especially true of those people who come through our borders as refugees. When they arrive they need to find a job, schools for their children and housing all while having very little money.
Wesleyan Community Care wants to support refugee families by providing some free essential household goods to help them get started in Australia.
Can you partner with us to give them a hand up into their new lives by giving a one time or monthly donation.
Indigenous Support
We partner with Indigenous organisations and communities supporting them with the challenges of isolation, inequality and discrimination. We work alongside local community led organisations to ensure the projects are meeting the felt needs of the community in question.
We are currently working with the Indigenous community of Wulkabirimirri in East Arnhem Land to supply of community toilets and showers and a community garden. The community garden will enable them to grow fresh fruit and vegetables and help them overcome food scarcity issues.
Youth Empowerment
Youth empowerment aims to support youth through access to positive role models and peer interactions.
Health and Well Being
Wesleyan Community Care assists people in need of improved access to wellness and quality of life.
Disaster and Emergency Relief
Australia suffers from regular floods, bushfires, cyclones and droughts. 2019-2020 was known as Black Summer because of the number of bushfires spread across Australia.
In 2022 there were four major floods across Australia. Each of these cases resulted in loss of life and property. Once the water recedes or the smoke clears some houses are left uninhabitable whilst others need major renovations. Some of the needs are immediate, like where are the people going to sleep tonight but others are long term. Recovery from any natural disaster is going to take a long time and funding is going to be needed at every stage.
Wesleyan Community Care is committed to working with local partners to ensure care goes beyond the immediate needs. These partners are able to assess what the needs are and support individuals and families to get back on their feet. At times Wesleyan Community Care is able to send a short term team to assist.
